子どもの頃から山が好きで、よく化石や水晶、石ころ採りに行っていましたが、今から考えるとこれらは長い

年月をかけて魅力的な変化を遂げた自然の作品です。

私の作品制作は知らず知らずのうちに、そのように誕生した自然の中から生まれた素晴らしい形や色彩を追い

求めるものになっていることに気づかされます。

また、京都から奈良に地に移り住み、２０年近くが経ち、近年になって奈良を意識し,この地ならではの作品を

作り出したいと強く思うようになりました。

「倭」（やまと）は土に新しい命を吹き込むことにより古代から時空を超え誕生を意識した作品作りをし、

そこに灰釉から進化したガラスのような「硝彩」（しょうさい）の作品も新たに加えて制作しています。

After moving from Kyoto to Nara, I have recently come to want to create Nara-conscious works.  Main series is “Yamato”, which is produced by breathing new life and have a sense of birth beyond time and space from ancient days.  Also, I am producing “Shosai”, which is an evolved series from “Haiyu”. 

 The experience of firing in climbing kiln fascinated me in my University days.  

Having brushed up the skill of potter’s wheel and hand-forming , I came to create rough and powerful works.   

 The idea of my works is connected to “Manyo”, which is the culture bloomed in the ancient capital in Nara.  

To express this concept, I have produced several series of works. “Sekisai” series is decorated with white rough texture on the surface, which is made of specific white stones collected from the mountain in Nara. 

“Haiyu” series is made of ash of such plants as oak, pine, grapes vine and so on.  “Yamato” is the newest 

series with using several techniques to show my fascination for “Manyo” culture. 

 You can see and feel my passion for creating new and unique ceramics and the air of the rich culture flourished in ancient Japan.
